Pyranormal activity since 2014

Metsämaan Pyramidipiknik

Saturday, 24 July 2027, 16:00–22:00

Entrance fee: a stone and its story. An alcohol-free, all-ages, "international ultra-local" village event in Metsämaa, Loimaa, south-west Finland.

About the event and how to visit

What is this about?

Metsämaan Pyramidipiknik is a slightly mad village festival in Loimaa. Instead of a ticket, every visitor brings a stone for the community artwork, the Field Stone Pyramid (Peltokivipyramidi), and writes the stone's story. Construction of the pyramid started in the ancient year 2014. According to fringe scientist Nehemias Mälkki's reverse radiocarbon dating, it will be completed in about 2614. Or was it 2613?

Every summer there is live music on two stages, an art exhibition, food made from Finnish ingredients, and the Pyramid Innovations: the Pyramingeli (a three-dimensional triangle), the Pyramiñata and the folk costume of the future.
